It’s a new year and we’ve got a lot of new species to share with you in 2026. It is our goal to bring some plants to you that are unusual and hard to find. Many of our new plants are listed in the shop, but not all. We are waiting to see how things germinate and grow before we offer them to you. New listings we share over the course of the 2026 season may not have a full write-up due to the early season being SO BUSY. We’ll get to that as we can. But, if you have any questions, we’re just an email away.
Most of the plants we sell grow in shade or partial shade (such as a woodland edge). We do have a few plants we sell that prefer full sun, just because we love them.
Most of our plants are native to Michigan. Descriptions usually have a mention of what areas of Michigan that particular plant is native to. But if not, there is a link to the Michigan Flora webpage where you can look at the map showing the distribution based on where collections have been taken in the past.
There are a few plants that we grow that are native just south and/or west of here. We have been careful to pick plants that don’t have a history of being aggressive. They stay tidy and in your yard, rather than straying into sensitive woodlands. These plants have notes within the description and also their own tag “Not Native to Michigan” if you’d rather avoid them. We’ve kept this category to a minimum.
Our ‘Upcoming Sales'“ page is updated for the spring and summer. You are always welcome to make an order that you’d like to pick up at one of these sales to decrease your travel time.
We have made the difficult decision not to ship plants. We just don’t have the time to do it well. We know this will be disappointing for some people and apologize for that!
We are so grateful to new and returning customers. We could not do this without you! Our goal has always been to get these plants into yards where they can support wildlife and make the world a better place.
