There are three species of Bluet native to Michigan with Canada Bluet (Houstonia canadensis) being one of them. This species tends to retain its basal leaves which are pubescent (fuzzy) toward the edges of the leaves. Flowers are small and with four petals. This plant makes an excellent ground cover in part to full sun.
