from $5.50
Sold Out
False Rue Anemone is a spring ephemeral that grows with rue anemone, spring beauty, trillium, Dutchman’s breeches, cut-leaf toothwort, violets, and sedges.
False Rue Anemone is sometimes confused with Rue Anemone (Thalictrum thalictroides). Both plants have white flowers, but rue anemone can be pink, or double flowered. Both plants have lobed leaves, but false rue anemone has some deep sinuses with oblong leaflets, while rue anemone has shallow lobes and a more rounded appearance. False rue anemone seeds form in a capsule, while rue anemone seeds form in a group at the tip of the flowering stem. You can read about a few more characteristics and look at photos on Michigan Flora.
This plant looks stunning in a large patch. Tubers can form underground and these tubers can produce new plants.
