Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia)
from $3.50
Sold Out
Harebell is a somewhat ubiquitous plant and is found in quite a variety of habitats. For the most part, it grows in full sun, but it can also be found in part shade/dappled light conditions, growing out of rock crevices or in sandy conditions on Great Lakes dunes. Essentially, you can plant harebell just about anywhere you want.
This plant is often best mixed in with other species so that the flowers poke out here or there. In a large mass, it’s harder to appreciate the bell-shaped flowers. Basal leaves are round/heart shaped and the leaves up the stem are more linear. The flowers are about an inch across and a lovely purple color. Once pollination has occurred, seeds form in a small pod. Seeds are tiny and can blow in the wind.
Companion Plants: big leaf aster, wild columbine, hair grass, pussy toes, wild strawberry
