Red Elderberry is a 4-18 foot shrub with compound leaves, white flowers and eventually, red berries. These berries are eaten by birds such as rose-breasted grosbeaks, catbirds, thrushes, and woodpeckers. Unlike black elderberry, the red berries are not edible for humans and are maybe poisonous.
