Tall Larkspur (Delphinium exaltatum)

from $5.50
Sold Out

Tall Larkspur is an attractive plant with large palmate leaves and spikes of purple, tubular flowers that attract hummingbirds, butterflies and bumblebees.

Tall Larkspur is not native to Michigan. Check out the BONAP link below to see the native range and you will also see that it is threatened throughout its range. I have personally seen it in southern Ohio in and around a part forest, part open glade. Our seed comes from Prairie Moon Nursery in Minnesota.

This plant blooms during a time when there aren’t many blooms for the part-shade woodland garden and it’s great to have food available for hummingbirds all season long!

Companion Plants (include taller plants that can help hold them up): wild columbine, rough-leaved goldenrod, sweet joe pyeweed, black-eyed susan, coneflowers
